Help
- Operate bridge crane. Performs visual and operational checks of all moving parts prior to start of work and reports any discrepancies noted.
- Selects and utilizes proper rigging equipment. Requires knowledge of established trade practices and techniques to select and install rigging equipment such as spreader bars, slings, cables, shackles, adjustable chain slings, or nylon slings used to lift, move, and position a variety of large and heavy items. Determines center of balance, equipment required, angles of pull, stresses, and effect each strain will have on the object being handled.
- Operates 5-ton tractor/trailer and various general-purpose vehicles within the confines of the installation to include the flightline.
- Operates fork lifts and automated material handling equipment, such as high rise automated storage and retrieval equipment, to temporarily store and position palletized material. Maintains records and documents actions:
Uses computer terminals, optical readers, bar code wands, scanners, handheld terminals, etc.
- Performs material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment, in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations. Supports management and local directives.
