Forklift Driver; Stand-up - Saxco; 1st or 2nd shift

Position Purpose

The Forklift Operator is responsible for efficiently managing the receipt, storage, and shipment of products in accordance with company standards for safety, productivity, and quality. Key duties include safely and proficiently operating a forklift to handle and transport products through the warehouse, contributing to streamlined processes, and ensuring a well‑organized, secure working environment.

• Compliance with company policies and safety standards:
  Ensure adherence to the company's guidelines and OSHA safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment.
• Stand‑up forklift experience preferred.
• Perform routine checks on equipment and safety measures in accordance with OSHA standards to prevent accidents and ensure proper functioning.
• Efficiently and safely load and unload freight while completing the necessary paperwork to maintain an organized and secure warehouse.
• Move products to appropriate storage locations using proper put‑away methods, optimizing warehouse organization and space utilization.
• Perform miscellaneous warehouse tasks such as labeling, sorting, wrapping, picking, and other related tasks as required, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
• Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Verify product information to maintain accurate inventory records and prevent discrepancies.
• Keep warehouse spaces and trailers clean by regularly sweeping and tidying up, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
• Prioritize safety by upholding a secure work atmosphere by wearing seat belts, driving at appropriate speeds, wearing proper PPE, and adhering to other safety precautions.
• Assist production during downtime.

• Stand‑up forklift experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient in math, language, and reading skills:
  Possess strong numeracy, literacy, and language skills, enabling effective communication and problem‑solving.
• Capable of following equipment operating instructions:
  Demonstrates understanding and adherence to guidelines for operating various warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Certified in forklift operation:
  Holds a valid forklift certification in compliance with OSHA standards, ensuring safe and proper operation of forklifts in the warehouse environment.
• Experience with RF scanner usage:
  Possess prior experience and proficiency in using RF scanning devices to manage inventory, contributing to streamlined warehouse processes.

• Prior experience as a forklift operator.
• Stand‑up forklift experience preferred.
• 3-5 years distribution center and warehouse experience required.

• High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from a certified college.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. – includes occasional and repetitive lifting.
• Sitting 10%, walking 20%, standing 70%.
• Long periods of standing, twisting and bending.
• Overtime work may be required to meet company demands.
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to judge distances and heights.
• Ability to work in varying seasonal temperatures.
• Ability to work in all functional areas of the warehouse.
