Robert Half is looking for a reliable Full Charge Bookkeeper to lead the day-to-day accounting operations for our clients landscaping business. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an independent role, maintains strong financial accuracy, and works closely with leadership to support sound business decisions. The successful candidate will oversee core bookkeeping functions, keep records organized and current, and help ensure smooth financial processes across the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the company's complete bookkeeping cycle, including maintaining accurate ledger activity and organized financial records.

- Manage incoming and outgoing payments by handling accounts receivable and accounts payable with timeliness and accuracy.

- Run payroll for a workforce of approximately 50 employees and help ensure related records are properly maintained.

- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet items to support clean and accurate reporting.

- Produce monthly financial statements and contribute to both month-end and year-end closing activities.

- Coordinate with the external accounting firm to support tax preparation and annual financial reporting requirements.

- Track cash activity, assist with budgeting efforts, and provide job costing information to help monitor business performance.

- Support compliance activities by preparing or assisting with sales tax, payroll tax, and other required filings.

- Address accounting-related inquiries from leadership, employees, and vendors in a thorough and timely manner.

Requirements

Desired

Experience:

- 5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience

- Demonstrated ability to manage accounting tasks independently in a small business or similarly hands-on environment.

- Solid knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger procedures.

- Experience using accounting software such as Quick Books, along with strong Excel skills.

- Familiarity with job costing and financial practices common in landscaping, construction, or other service-oriented industries is an advantage.

- Comfortable collaborating with an external accounting partner on tax and year-end reporting matters.

- Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
