Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant provides support to students, faculty and staff in the Farrington College of Education & Human Development.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Counselor Education Department Chairperson, including coordinating course scheduling, managing instructor assignments, organizing meetings, maintaining Outlook calendars, updating and maintaining student records, and assisting with other departmental operations as needed.
- Demonstrate professional, effective and efficient communication within the college and across university departments.
- Serve as a resource for office coverage and direct all students, employees and visitors appropriately.
- Assist with faculty searches and onboarding procedures.
- Maintain department budgets and purchasing.
- Process faculty payroll.
- Provide support to faculty and staff as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings, events, retreats, etc.
- Assist with department meetings, including Zoom/Teams support.
- Provide administrative support for department events, including residencies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes
- Associate degree and/or minimum of 5 years related experience
- Excellent interpersonal and people skills and the ability to work independently with initiative.
- Must be energetic and have professional manners to present a positive impression to people outside and within the University
- Must have strong organizational skills and solid computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Power Point, Excel and the Internet
Unusual Working Conditions
Must be flexible, hours occasionally required beyond the normal workday.
