Event Manager / Planner, PR / Communications
Founded in 1895, Brooklawn Country Club is one of the oldest private clubs and a proud fixture of Fairfield, Connecticut. With its classic A.W. Tillinghast-designed golf course, host to multiple USGA Championships, and premier racquets, aquatics, dining, and social programs, Brooklawn has long been known for its tradition of excellence, vibrant community, and warm hospitality.
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Events Coordinator to join our team. This role supports the planning, promotion, and execution of members’ and private events that are central to the Brooklawn experience. Working closely with the Events Director, the Events Coordinator ensures that every event is flawlessly organized, effectively communicated, and carried out to the highest standard.
A Day in the Life:Imagine starting your day at one of Fairfield County’s most historic clubs, walking through a clubhouse that has hosted generations of members, and knowing that today you’ll play a key part in creating experiences they’ll remember for years to come. As Brooklawn’s Events Coordinator, no two days are the same. One morning, you might be updating the Club’s master calendar and proofreading copy for an elegant holiday gala invitation.
By the afternoon, you’re checking event diagrams with the chef and dining team, finalizing seating charts, or collaborating with our marketing partners on the next newsletter. Later in the week, you’re greeting members at a wedding reception, assisting with guest check-in, and ensuring the evening flows seamlessly. This role is at the heart of what makes Brooklawn special, bringing people together and carrying forward traditions that define the Club.

- Be on the ground during events, helping members feel welcomed and cared for while ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Collect post-event feedback so each event is better than the last.
- 3–5 years of experience in events, hospitality, or communications.
- Someone who thrives on details but also loves being part of the action.
- A clear, professional communicator, in writing and in person.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office; experience with Northstar or similar club/event software is a plus.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during event season.
- Base Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
- Benefits package including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan eligibility.
- Complimentary meals during shifts.
- The opportunity to grow within one of Fairfield County’s premier country clubs.
