We’re looking to bring on a new member to our Social/Behavioral Team aka our Camper/Counselor Support Team. The role includes supervision of our counseling staff (including evaluation, feedback, etc.),
support of their social and emotional health, assistance with any inter-personal conflicts, and more; as well as camper support,
intervention and coaching in issues such as bullying, conflict, behavioral difficulties, and more.
Partnering with parents/guardians may fall within your purview. If you are a problem-solver

, and want everyone to have their best summer ever, this is the role for you!

The ideal candidate:

  • has experience in camp settings
  • has a background in social work, teaching, counseling
    , or related fields
  • has experience working with both children and adults, including neurodiverse groups and neurodivergent individuals
  • embraces our non-competitive,
    cooperative camp spirit and our gentle and holistic,
    child-centered approach to behavior management and conflict-resolution. Background in trauma-informed methodology and/or restorative justice are especially valued.

The Nature Place Day Camp, a summer day camp for kids ages 5-15, located in Rockland County, NY. Our mission is to provide an inclusive and representative space where children can find their place in nature, embrace their unique selves, grow relationships and new life skills, build resilience, and be inspired throughout. Employment

dates are as follows:

Pre-season meetings:
Dates TBD with your schedule

Staff Training:
June 28 – July 2, 2026 (No camp July
3)

6 Week Season:
Monday, July 6 – Friday, August 14, 2026

Staff hours:
Monday – Friday, appx. 8:00 am to 5 pm
