Preschool Classroom Assistant​/CDA Specialist

Join our dynamic team at CIFC's Danbury Early Learning Programs as a Child Development Associate (CDA) Specialist! We are eager to find passionate and dedicated individuals to assist in enriching the lives of young children in our care.

In this rewarding position, you will assist 1-2 classrooms in planning and implementing engaging routines, educational curriculum, nutritious meals, and related activities for preschool and infant/toddler children aged 6 months to 5 years. You will play a vital role in supporting a classroom of 14 to 20 Head Start/Preschool children and/or 7-8 Infant/Toddler children. This position is essential for delivering the core functions of the Head Start program, with a variety of tasks available based on the daily needs.

• Immediate Supervisor: Education Services Professional
• Classification: Standard / Full Time (1.0 FTE) or Part-Time (Hourly)
• Schedule: 9:45 AM-5:45 PM or 2:45-5:45 PM (Monday - Friday)
• Status: Non-Exempt
• Directly Supervises: None

• Must be 18 years or older.
• This is an entry-level position; previous babysitting or childcare experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required (such as email, word processing, and internet navigation).
• Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, with preference for those fluent in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese.
• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required (completed or currently enrolled).
• A Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate or commitment to obtain one within the first year of employment (cost covered by employer) is mandatory.
• Preferred qualifications include Early Childhood Education Credits, as well as an Associate or Bachelor’s degree.

• Recent fit-for-duty health examination.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
