Collective Kind provides mindful and ethical early care for working families of all backgrounds. Our Montessori programs are nature-based and grounded in anti-bias education with the family and community at the center. Our Infant‑Toddler program is open to young ones from 14 mos – 2.5 years old and our micro preschools are open to children 2‑5 YOS. Tuition is run on a sliding scale so that our program can be financially accessible to more families.
Slope (428 7th Ave, BK) school team includes:
- Two (2) full‑time morning teachers 8:00‑4:00 (class 8:30‑3:30) – a Teacher Director + a Group Teacher
- One (1) part‑time afternoon teacher
- One (1) part‑time administrator onsite mornings and lunch + prep coverage
- Administrative and curricular support from Collective Kind founding team and administrative staff
- Hiring for two (2) part‑time Infant‑Toddler teachers
Montessori Lessons:;
Snack preparation, Practical Life lessons, Sensory;
Open Play;
Art; + Snack;
Morning Meeting + Songs;
Outdoor Play;
Project Period following current emergent curriculum;
Lunch (brought from home) + Story Read Aloud;
Closing circle / transition to nap for extended day;
Nap + Afternoon snack;
Outdoor play + Dismissal
- 1 adult per child remains onsite using the co‑working space
- separate room with comfortable work spaces with Wi Fi
We are looking to set up teams who can compliment each other bringing different skills into the classroom, looking for a team comprised of (1) leadership experience with a drive to collaborate, problem solve and strong initiative, (2) Montessori experience or certification (3) special needs experience (4) your own passions and interests, (5) staff qualified to meet DOHMH permit requirements (N/A for to our Infant‑Toddler program).

TBD Monday, Wednesday + Friday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM or possibly 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
CompensationBased on Salary Bands
Responsibilities include:- Creating a learning environment that is welcoming for and supportive of all types of learners, respectful of the child, and supports the development of independence, concentration, coordination, and care of self, community, and the environment.
- Building a collaborative and effective teaching team based on clear communication, where all teachers are able to share their skills and learn from each other.
- Lesson planning, creating classroom materials, projects, and activities following Collective Kind’s Montessori, anti‑bias, and nature‑based curriculum.
- Being reliable (on time and consistent), taking care of the classroom environment (daily tidying and cleaning), and changing diapers for children not yet toilet trained.
- Equitable, warm, and understanding communication (emails, meetings, and phone calls) with families.
- Maintaining a comfortable co‑working environment for grown ups to work in while class is in session.
- Modeling kind interactions with our greater community.
- Receiving and providing feedback so your school team can learn and grow together.
- Observation and documentation of children’s experiences through video, photos, and written notes.
- Writing weekly school newsletters for families to share a deeper view into work in the classroom.
We are looking for teachers who have:
- Two or more years experience with infants and toddlers
- Special Education experience is a plus

Compensation:Salaries are determined by Collective Kind’s dynamic compensation calculator.
Starting hourly rate for this position $25/hr
