Mission Springs Camp & Conference Center

Mission Springs Outdoor Education utilizes hands‑on science and team building activities to foster positive student relationships and promote good stewardship of the environment. Naturalists live onsite at Mission Springs, and are responsible for leading a group of students every week in various science classes as they explore our campus of Redwoods. This is a seasonal position.

Weekly Salary: $676.00 with low cost housing and most meals provided.

We are currently hiring for the Spring and Fall 2026 seasons:

Spring:
January 13-May 23

Fall:
August 10 – December 12

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Experience working with children and youth (preferred)
  • Ability to be a positive Christian role model for children
  • Desire to live in a Christian Community
  • Must be Live Scan cleared
General Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and instruct trail‑based classes, ropes course activities, recreational events, and off‑site field trips.
  • Lead, participate, supervise, and support large group events such as campfires, class line‑ups, introductions, games, and meals.
  • Ensure that students understand and comply with discipline and safety procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for organization and maintenance of shared office/program materials, facilities and workspace.
  • Administer emergency First Aid as necessary and notify Director of injuries and incidents involving students, chaperones, or teachers. Certification in CPR/First Aid must be current.
  • Participate in special projects such as trail maintenance, museum organization, garden maintenance, program events, etc.
  • Contribute in a positive manner to the culture of the Outdoor Education team, both while on the job and in shared living space.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Working Conditions and

Physical Requirements
  • Environment:
    Indoor and Outdoor, all-weather conditions
  • Work Hours:

    Monday‑Friday and some evenings weekly
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to hike 3-6 miles a day including on uneven terrain and inclines, and lift 50+ pounds
