Lead Toddler Teacher

Locations: Fairfield University Campus

Term: Part-Time | Year-Round

Salary: $20.19 – $22.60 per hour

What You’ll Do
  • Lead a toddler classroom by creating engaging, play‑based learning experiences that support language, literacy, social‑emotional development, and early STEAM learning.
  • Build warm, responsive relationships with children and families.
  • Supervise and support classroom team members while modeling positive teaching practices.
  • Partner with families through daily communication, conferences, workshops, and family events.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Observe and document children’s growth and development.
  • Collaborate with teaching team members to implement ELLI’s curriculum and approach.
  • Support classroom routines including meals, diapering, toileting, transitions, and outdoor play.
  • Ensure compliance with NAEYC standards and Connecticut licensing regulations.
Requirements Required
  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with at least 12 credits in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum one (1) year of professional childcare or classroom experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading or mentoring classroom staff
  • Knowledge of Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (CT ELDS)
  • Experience working with toddlers in a group setting
  • Strong communication and family engagement skills
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
