Position SummaryAssist head coach with all administrative aspects of conducting an intercollegiate women's rowing program, operating within the NCAA and Metro Conference. Heavy emphasis on recruiting and developing student athletes. Responsibilities will include facilitating and assisting in the administration of all phases of the intercollegiate program; including, but not limited to coaching, recruiting, fundraising, and travel logistics. Candidate must demonstrate: a significant knowledge of rowing;
strong commitment to the academic success of student-athletes; knowledge and commitment to University and Conference regulations; good communication and technology skills, and strong leadership qualities.
- Recruiting, practices, competitions, and team meetings throughout the rowing season.
- Travel planning for competitions, potentially including trailer driving to regattas.
- Maintenance and control of equipment inventory.
- Coordinate with academic staff, training staff, and other departments.
- Working with Director of Rowing on equipment, travel, and recruiting.
- Roster maintenance, student-athlete eligibility and retention related matters.
- Alumni relations and alumni targeted fundraising.
- The planning and execution of official visits for prospective student-athletes.
- Planning and implementation of a social media strategy targeting various constituencies including alumni, parents, student athletes and fans.
- Marketing and Promotion of Lightweight Team.
- Stay current on policies and procedures both University and NCAA. Attend league meetings where required.
- Report any potential NCAA, Conference, University or departmental rules issue for review to the Executive Director of Athletics and Director of Compliance without fail.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience coaching at the collegiate or competitive high school or club level is highly preferred.
- Impeccable integrity with a thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Position includes nights and weekends; overnight and weekend travel
