Fairfield University, Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies,invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Nursing faculty position for our Fairfield, CT campus.
The Egan School seeks to inspire students to become leaders across social and healthcare environments who improve health outcomes forall, inclusive of underserved or vulnerable populations. Additional information on the Nursing program can be found here .
We are particularly interested in educators with expertise in foundational undergraduate nursing courses . The teaching load is12 credits each semester (typically 4 classes) for non-tenure track faculty . In addition to teaching, faculty are also expected to contribute to the profession and advance the scholarship and service missions of the program, the school, and the university.
Faculty members are expected to participate in on-campus events,meetings, committees, and other student- and service-related activities.
Master’s degree in nursing required; doctoral degree in nursing, or enrolled in a doctoral program, preferred. Candidates must hold anactive unencumbered nursing license in Connecticut. Academic ornursing leadership experience commensurate with the mission, goals,and expected program outcomes is expected, as is documented education in teaching and learning principles for adult education,including curriculum development and competency-based assessment,as demonstrated through graduate course work, faculty-development programs, or completion or a certificate program in nursingeducation.
Candidates must be innovative in curricular development and be prepared to incorporate simulation pedagogy into courses.
Academic - Faculty Non-Tenure Track
Performs such other duties, responsibilities, and activities as required by supervisor and as departmental/University needs indicate.
