Job Overview

We are seeking high‑potential, bilingual engineering talent to join Mevion’s China Operations team. This role begins with structured training in the United States and transitions to supporting our cutting‑edge proton therapy systems in China. Ideal candidates will be fluent in both English and Chinese, possess a strong STEM background, and be motivated to grow with a leading high‑tech company in China’s healthcare sector.

Candidates should also demonstrate strong hands‑on capability, the ability to work well under pressure, and a willingness to actively learn complex systems and contribute to the healthcare sector.

  • Initial training in the United States (minimum 6 months)
  • Long‑term placement in China post‑certification
Key Responsibilities
  • Install and test proton therapy systems at customer sites, including wiring, assembly, safety inspections, and initial equipment startup.
  • Conduct calibration and testing activities, including subsystem setup, system operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in customer acceptance testing and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Perform equipment upgrades, preventive maintenance, and service documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with global support teams and clinical site personnel to ensure system readiness and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed service and maintenance records.
  • Provide technical feedback on system performance and improvements.
  • Participate in boot camps, team meetings, and cross‑functional training sessions.
  • Support knowledge‑sharing initiatives and help train future cohorts as needed.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in physics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, intelligent medical instruments, or a related STEM field.
  • Language: Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English is required.
  • Background: Candidates with a strong understanding of both U.S. and Chinese cultures are preferred. A background that includes education or experience in both regions is a plus.
  • Skills: Basic understanding of software/hardware and network control systems. Skilled in interpreting schematics and technical documentation. Hands‑on experience with technical work, such as in labs, research, and/or competitions.
  • Soft Skills: Strong sense of responsibility and execution. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Self‑motivated and proactive. Ability to work in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments.
Work Conditions
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Open to rotating shifts and extended field assignments.
  • Capable of and comfortable with working in environments containing low levels of radiation. All applicable protective standards are provided and adhered to as required.
  • Due to the work environment, persons with pacemakers are not eligible for this position.
Development Path
  • Structured U.S. training program with hands‑on system experience.
  • Technical certifications to qualify as a Field Service Engineer.
  • Long‑term relocation to support China operations.
