Overview
Selected candidates will become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in Operations and Sales & Service. The role focuses on sales development and relationship building through promotion of deposits, loans, fee‑based services, and customer retention.
Responsibilities- Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of retail consumer and small business products and recommend appropriate solutions using the bank’s value proposition.
- Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
- Engage in cross‑selling to existing customers and perform outside sales activities such as membership advantage presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events.
- Establish close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) and refer customers when appropriate to provide holistic financial solutions.
- Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and individual/team production goals and enhance year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.
- Provide guidance to CSRs regarding the sales and referral process.
- Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.
- Maintain confidentiality and act with confidence when answering customer questions and resolving issues.
- Open and service the full range of retail products while adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Participate in the consumer loan and bank card process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.
- Participate in the opening/closing process of the financial center or bank mart as directed by the financial center manager.
- Stay current on retail procedures that mitigate fraudulent activity and reduce risk or exposure.
- College degree or equivalent work experience providing transferrable skills.
- Experience in the financial industry preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities that acquire new consumers and small business customers or cross‑sell to existing customers.
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced math functions to analyze credit and financial information.
- Professional appearance and effective verbal/written communication skills.
- Knowledge of retail policies and procedures to make sound judgments.
- Required S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
Normal office environment with extended computer use. The program requires training travel within the affiliate and occasional travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
