UNC Hospitals Department of Audiology is seeking a full-time Clinical Audiologist to provide outpatient services primarily for the adult patient population across multiple locations, including:
- Orange County: UNC Hospitals Hearing & Voice Clinic at Carolina Crossing
- Chatham County: UNC Hospitals Audiology at Pittsboro
- Wake County: UNC Audiology Services at Cary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced audiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services in a busy ENT clinic setting. The role will focus on the assessment and management of hearing loss, including evaluation, fitting, and programming of hearing aids and cochlear implants.
IncentiveThis position qualifies for our Incentive Program, which includes $10,000 in commitment incentives paid over two years.
Salary Range$35.87 – $51.57 per hour (Hiring Range). Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.
Responsibilities- Perform basic and advanced diagnostic audio logic evaluations across the lifespan
- Interpret and analyze test results to develop patient-centered treatment plans
- Counsel patients and families on hearing loss, its impact, and management strategies
- Manage the ongoing needs of hearing aid and cochlear implant users, including programming, troubleshooting, and follow-up care
- Conduct verification of hearing aid fittings using best-practice technology
- Administer comprehensive cochlear implant evaluations, including aided speech perception testing, and determine candidacy for implantable hearing technologies
- Counsel patients on implantable technology options, function, and realistic expectations
- Perform diagnostic testing for cochlear implant devices in both clinical and OR settings
- Program and manage all available implantable devices in the adult population
- Requires AuD or Masters degree in Audiology with continuous active certificate.
- Licensed as an Audiologist by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. BLS within 3 months of hire date.
- Master’s level candidates also need a license/certificate from NC Hearing Aid Dealer’s and Fitters Board
- Audiologist experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse customer, colleague, and vendor population. This includes listening, sales, and problem solving skills. Strong keyboard/computer/Audiology diagnostic and hearing aid software and equipment experience. Must be able to organize time and prioritize numerous duties. Must deal with customers in a caring and respectful manner.
