NAFI Rhode Island is exploring candidates for Youth Counselors for our adolescent group home in Warwick, RI.
Youth Counselors provide direct oversight and supervision of residents in the milieu. Ideal candidates are eager to engage and interact with the teens in the program and act as role models and caring adults to residents.
Responsibilities- Ensuring the comprehensive fulfilment of residents' physical and emotional needs
- Facilitating problem solving among residents and nurturing peer relationships.
- Organizing and orchestrating special activities and projects tailored for the youth
- Stimulating engagement among teenagers through pro-social and constructive activities
- Diligently observing and meticulously documenting youth activities
- Executing the daily schedule with precision and adaptability
- Offering adept de-escalation and crisis intervention support when necessary
- Actively participating in the scheduled staff meetings

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience and knowledge of the population served
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Residential, Human Services, or Health care experience is a plus
Hourly Rate: $22.50 per hour
