Position Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced paralegal for our insurance defense practice group.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to five years of experience, with knowledge of law office procedures and local court/jurisdiction rules and procedures. Specific experience in general liability defense litigation, including construction accidents, property damage premises liability is preferred. Experience with Construction Liability/Labor Law, not-for-profits and/or Child Victim Act cases is a plus.

Responsibilities

A successful candidate must be able to manage and maintain litigation materials from case inception through conclusion. This includes drafting discovery demands, responding to pleadings, correspondence to clients, carriers, medical providers and opposing parties, as well as preparing medical records and deposition summaries and materials for depositions and trials.

Qualifications

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable education/work experience
  • Paralegal certification preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years of paralegal experience in a law firm environment
  • Discreet and prepared to maintain professional confidentiality
  • Outstanding MS Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) and data entry
  • Some experience and knowledge of State and Federal Court CM/ECF systems and filings
  • Flexible and adaptable to new roles and duties
  • Excellent organizational skills, communication and follow up
  • Strong work ethic
  • Belief in teamwork
  • Experience with Time Matters and Time Slips is a plus
