Location: Waterloo, IA 50704
Assignment Length: 2 Years + Possible Extension
Position Type: Contract / Contingent
Pay Rate: Hourly on W2 (All-Inclusive on SGS Payroll; No PTO/Holiday Pay)
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM);
Overtime may be scheduled
- Onsite position only (no remote work)
- Business casual dress code
- Interview conducted via Microsoft Teams
- Metatarsal safety boots required on first day
- Shop floor role; candidates must be comfortable in a manufacturing environment
- Approximately 80% of time spent on feet within the factory
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will support shop floor quality operations, ensuring products meet manufacturing and quality standards. This role involves hands‑on engagement in a factory environment, collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and problem‑solving to support continuous improvement initiatives. The position is well‑suited for early‑career professionals with manufacturing exposure or recent graduates with relevant internships.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport quality processes and initiatives on the manufacturing shop floor
Assist in identifying, analyzing, and resolving quality issues
Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams
Document quality findings and support corrective action activities
Participate in continuous improvement and problem‑solving efforts
Communicate effectively with stakeholders across departments
Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing standards at all times
Required Education & BackgroundDegree in one of the following fields:
- Technology
- Communications
- Business
- Computer Science
- Data Analytics
Open to recent graduates with manufacturing internship experience
Key Skills & Experience Required- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work on the shop floor for extended periods
- Comfort working cross‑functionally with multiple teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
