Shifts & Rotation- Rotate between Gateway & CHoR (goal 50:50, adjusted to needs).
- 4 10s – primarily Monday–Friday (weekends scheduled within the six‑week schedule for coverage, PTO, LOA, etc.).
- Start time between 7a‑11a during the six‑week schedule to ensure evening coverage.
Integrates technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet patient and family needs, assisting the healthcare team with prevention, maintenance, and comfort.
- Provides direction, education, and develops leadership skills at the unit level.
- Delivers direct, age‑specific care to patients or patient groups per medical orders and multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Safely administers prescribed medications, identifies incompatibilities and/or interactions.
- Recognizes changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately (greater emphasis for ClinII and III).
- Mobilizes resources to meet individualized needs of patients/families.
For ClinII and ClinIII, additional responsibilities include mastering clinical skills for specific patient populations and serving as a role model in clinical settings.
Licensure & Certification- Current Virginia RN license (or eligible/compact state license).
- For continued employment: BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
- ClinIII requires Specialty Certification.
- Clinical Nurse I – No specific clinical experience required.
- Clinical Nurse II – 12 to 24 months RN experience.
- Clinical Nurse III – 3 years clinical experience.
- Required:
Diploma or Associate’s degree from a professional nursing program recognized by state Board of Nursing. - Registered nurses without a Bachelor’s degree must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years and complete within five years.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program. - ClinIII preferred:
Certification in specialty area.
Organizes work and delegates and supervises others (RN, LPN, Care Partner, Unit Secretary, etc.).
AdditionalPosition Requirements
- Clinicians work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Individual shift rotation and schedules established with Nurse Manager/Practice Manager.
- Schedules may be adjusted to meet unit requirements.
- Lifting 20‑50lbs.
- Prolonged standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching.
- Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, clear speaking, legible writing, reading, logical thinking.
- Fast‑pace environment, steady pace, multitasking, frequent customer interactions, noisy environment.
