Job Description:

The Assistant Kitchen Director plays a vital leadership role in supporting the Kitchen Director with all back-of-house operations, ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, speed, and cleanliness. This individual helps lead, coach, and develop the kitchen team, and is expected to model Chick-fil-A's core values of excellence, stewardship, and care.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

* Assist in managing daily kitchen operations to meet Chick-fil-A quality and service standards

* Monitor food safety, preparation procedures, cleanliness, and labor efficiency

* Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations

* Maintain kitchen organization and inventory systems

Team Development & Supervision

* Train, mentor, and coach kitchen team members

* Provide real-time feedback and conduct performance check-ins

* Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a strong work ethic

* Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing shift coverage

Quality & Speed Execution

* Oversee food production to ensure accuracy, consistency, and speed

* Collaborate with front-of-house and leadership to ensure seamless service

* Support order fulfillment efficiency

Stewardship & Cost Control

* Assist in managing food cost, portion control, and waste reduction

* Help track kitchen inventory, place orders, and receive shipments

* Steward company equipment and supplies responsibly

Qualifications:

* Prior kitchen leadership experience required

* Strong understanding of food safety procedures (Serv Safe certification a plus)

* Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment

* Excellent communication and organizational skills

* Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Pay Range:

* $20-$25 an hour depending on experience
