- Patrol university buildings and grounds by radio‑equipped cars, foot patrol, and bicycles to prevent theft, trespass, vandalism, or violations of General Statutes and university regulations.
- Investigate and report on any violations of the General Statutes and university regulations.
- Enforce parking regulations, including issuance of tickets, permits, and coordination of towing efforts.
- Notify supervisors and proper authorities regarding any violations of the General Statutes and university regulations.
- Respond to and investigate motor‑vehicle accidents and accidents caused by fire and personal injury in accordance with public safety, health, and safety procedures.
- Assist in the supervision and professional development of officer trainees, non‑officer Public Safety personnel, and students.
- Perform general public safety functions including dispatch operations.
- Conduct traffic‑control checkpoint duty, monetary escort services, and basic public safety service information to the general public.
- Respond to and provide medical care in conjunction with appropriate completion of medical training.
- Execute any specialty task assigned by supervisor.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills in public safety practices.
- Carry out any additional duties required for crime prevention.
- Participate in staff meetings as requested.
- Act as a responsible committee representative as requested.
- Promote an image of efficiency and courtesy throughout the university community consistent with the Department of Public Safety’s mission.
- Promote the proper utilization of equipment and materials.
- Report immediately any unsafe working conditions to supervisor.
- Take charge of shift activities and responsibilities when designated.
- Carry out other related duties as directed.
$25.00 per hour
