A Donaldson Company Stevens Point Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for safely maintaining and repairing the equipment, machinery within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the production process by minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the production team.
Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd shift
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues and implement repairs safely and efficiently
Read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams for machinery and building systems
Accurately prepare and maintain documentation via computer systems including but not limited to maintenance logs, daily activity, etc.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machines
Adheres to all mandated safety protocols, including OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, environmental regulations and internal company standards
Operate a variety of shop tools and equipment, including drill presses, lathes, mills, saws and other tools
Work overtime as needed

Minimum Qualifications:Currently enrolled in of a Two-year degree program of Instrumentation Technology, Electromechanical Technology or related field or 3 years prior work experience in an electrical or mechanical field OR equivalent combination of both education and experience
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex machinery
Ability to lift 35 lbs. on a regular basis and lift up to 65 lbs. on occasional basis
Frequent standing and walking with the ability bend/reach/climb and work in confined spaces as needed
Competent in the operation and maintenance of hand and power tools
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications:Graduate of a degree program of Instrumentation Technology, Electromechanical Technology or related field
Candidates should have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and possess strong communication skills
Demonstrate strong working knowledge in troubleshooting/repair of 480
VAC systems, Motors and Motor Control Circuits, Digital Electronics and PLC Programming (Allen Bradley), Pneumatics, Hydraulics and CNC controlled equipment
Possess working knowledge of machine fabrication, installation and preventative maintenance systems
