E2 Electrical Mechanic
The E2 Electrical Mechanic performs mid-level electrical installation work on commercial interiors and assisted living projects. This role requires strong hands-on experience with conduit, wiring, and equipment installation while working under the direction of a Foreman. The E2 Mechanic is expected to work independently on assigned tasks, troubleshoot issues in the field, and maintain high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities- Install EMT and rigid conduit (1/2"–4"), ensuring clean, accurate, and code-compliant runs.
- Perform wire pulls, terminations, and splicing for lighting, power, and equipment systems.
- Install electrical fixtures, panels, disconnects, and related devices per plans and specifications.
- Assist with installation and connections of switch gear, transformers, and generators.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits, wiring issues, and equipment to identify and correct problems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and layout drawings.
- Complete rough-in and finish work efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Support layout and planning of conduit and wiring runs as directed by the Foreman.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle tools and materials.
- Communicate with Foreman and team members to ensure workflow and project timelines are met.
- Assist and guide junior mechanics and helpers as needed.
- +6 years of commercial electrical experience (minimum).
- Strong conduit bending skills (EMT and rigid) including offsets, 90s, and saddles.
- Hands-on experience with wiring, terminations, fixtures, and panel work.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems in the field.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Working knowledge of NEC and commercial installation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
- Small crew environment (approximately 10–15 workers).
- Active construction site requiring PPE at all times.
- Hands-on electrical work including conduit installation, wiring, and equipment setup.
This is a Permanent position based out of Fairfield, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $48.00/hr.
