The Fairfield Police Department is currently seeking dedicated, community-focused individuals to join our team as full-time police officers. Located in the heart of southeast Iowa, Fairfield is a vibrant and growing community that values public safety, integrity, and service. Position Overview

As a Police Officer with the Fairfield Police Department, you will perform a wide variety of law enforcement duties including patrol, crime prevention, investigation, traffic enforcement, and community policing. You’ll work 12-hour shifts on a Panama schedule, typically rotating between days and nights every 3 months, with every other weekend off.

Residency Requirement
:
Officers must reside within 30 minutes of Fairfield. This policy offers flexibility while ensuring timely response capability.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to pass background check, physical fitness test, and psychological evaluation
