PositionSummary
The Radiologic Technologist (R.T. (R)) or Limited Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) is responsible for providing basic clinical care to patients. Duties include performing initial clinical evaluations and directed procedures for urgent care. The RT(R) or LMRT will perform x‑ray testing, including body mechanics and patient movement using knowledge of anatomy and physiology. They will prepare patients for continued medical evaluation by advanced registered nurse practitioners by taking a brief history, establishing vital signs, recording appropriate documentation, and shooting x‑rays.
KeyTasks and Responsibilities
- Minimal patient lifting required
- Perform radiographic examinations following departmental protocols and physician instructions
- Prepare and position patients to obtain high‑quality diagnostic images while ensuring privacy, comfort, and proper shielding
- Operate radiologic equipment safely, adjusting technical factors and positioning as needed to obtain optimal images
- Accurately document and maintain patient records in the radiology information system and/or EMR
- Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses, and other team members to support coordinated, efficient care
- Provide timely follow‑up regarding lab and x‑ray results
- Assist with patient check‑in/out procedures when necessary
- Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs and weight; take brief history, past medical, family and social history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent history as appropriate
- Administer any medication as ordered by the provider and within your licensure/certification
- Perform CLIA‑waived lab tests, draw blood, collect and label specimens for send‑out labs; perform DOT and Non‑DOT urine drug screens and Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT)
- Ensure that equipment is in proper working order and report any malfunctions to the Center Manager or designee on duty
- Adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and patient confidentiality policies
- Perform phlebotomy, injections, medical procedures and laboratory procedures appropriate for the level of training under the direction of a clinician
- Act with honesty and integrity in all business transactions, including employment applications/resumes, patient records, time records, and financial transactions
- Follow all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures
- Quick Visit is willing to provide some on‑the‑job training for the clinical responsibilities listed above
- Graduate of an approved two‑year Radiologic Technology program or LMRT program
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry eligible and possess a current Iowa license
- BLS
- Mandatory Reporter for Dependent Adult and Child Abuse
- Must be able to interact with client personnel and team members in an autonomous responsible, professional and ethical manner
- Must be able to produce very high‑quality special imaging with little supervision
- Must be able to function effectively in a team‑oriented environment
- Must be flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
- Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering
- Ability to demonstrate competency in all applicable areas

- 12‑hour shift (2–3 per week)
