Information Assurance (IA) Cyber Security Engineer

The Information Assurance (IA) Cyber Security Engineer will assist the government with IA guidance and procedures to RRMC IT. They will monitor, track, and submit accreditation packets for RRMC IT information systems. They will facilitate the Certificate of Net worthiness (CON) process and provide guidance and review of CON Requests. The IA Engineer will assist the government with establishing, publishing, and executing information assurance policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Review network audit log files
- Run and evaluate ACAS scans
- Report IAVA status on the NETOPS Reporting Tool.
- Provide interface with the CTNOSC for reporting various issues.
- Provide Security Risk Assessment support.
- Manage the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Program.
- Manage the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program.
- Perform IA oversight and inspections.
- Provide representation at the RRMC Change/Configuration board meetings.
- Manage hardware and software changes.
- Determine abnormalities, attacks, damages, and unauthorized modifications in the network.
- Support, participate in, and implement onboarding of new customers to the Joint Consolidated Server Room (JCSR).
- Provide on‑going training and technical direction to users and other team members pertaining to IA.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or Cybersecurity related field - can substitute 5 years' experience in lieu of degree
- Security + (Required)
- eMASS certified (Preferred)
- CISSP, CISM or equivalent Security certification (Preferred)
- 2 years’ experience working in the Cyber Security/ Information Security field
- DoD and Army Information Assurance (IA) policies, standards, and regulations.
- Risk Management Framework (RMF), CON processes, and accreditation procedures.
- Knowledge of security tools and technologies such as ACAS, audit log systems, and IAVA reporting.
- Network security principles, threat identification, and vulnerability management.
- Reviewing security audit logs, analyzing ACAS scans, and interpreting vulnerability findings.
- Managing IA and cybersecurity programs, including RMF, IA Vulnerability Management, and risk assessments.
- Identifying network anomalies, unauthorized modifications, and potential security risks.
- Preparing and presenting cybersecurity documentation, reports, and accreditation packets.
- Develop, implement, and maintain IA policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders such as leadership and end users.
- Provide training, guidance, and technical direction to users and team members.
