We are looking for an experienced mold designer to join our talented team. The mold designer uses CAD software to design blow molds up to our customer standards while following manufacturing best practices. The mold designer with work in a team environment with other designers, machinists, tool and mold makers.
This position is for the day shift, 7:00 a.m - 4:30 p. m. Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities- Review customer data for tooling feasibility and propose design solutions
- Model mold design and create fully toleranced 2D manufacturing solutions
- Collaborate with shop personnel on manufacturing plans
- Hold internal and external mold design reviews with team and customers
- Check peer mold designs
- Support quoting as needed
- Proficient with Pro E (Creo) or similar CAD software
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturability
- Ability to understand and incorporate customer standards/specifications into a mold design
- Ability work in a steady professional manner with little or no supervision required
- Ability to work in a team environment and participate in engineering reviews
- Must be detail-oriented
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent MS Office skills
- Prior quoting experience is a plus
