Med Surg RN; Night shift

Position Overview

To plan and provide for total patient care through the use of the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. To direct and guide patient teaching, and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current Iowa RN license. BCLS & ACLS required. Experience preferred, but not required.

• Online verification of licensure or certification to include expiration date and any disciplinary actions within 30 days of start date.
• BLS & ACLS required through American Heart Association – copy of both sides of the cards.
• All copies of applicable certifications: ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP.
• Immunizations: MMR (two doses or positive titers), Varicella (positive titer or two vaccines), Polio, Hepatitis B series, titer or signed declination, current TDaP, flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1st – Mar 31st), negative 2‑step Mantoux within 1 year of start or QuantiFERON Gold. If positive, must provide proof of positive & chest X‑ray results.
• Proof of physical within 1 year of start date.
• 10‑panel drug screen within 1 month of start date.
• Respiratory fit test within 1 year of start date (RFT provided if not available).
• Criminal background check for all states where licensed/worked in past 7 years within 30 days of start date.
• National &/or State Sex Offender registry check via GSA (EPLS), Sam.gov within 30 days of start date.
• OIG – date within 30 days of start date.
• Iowa mandatory reporter certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse) completed before start.
• Completion of Care Learning education modules (mandatory reporter module if not certified).

Full‑time nights. 12‑hour night shifts per week (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM). Rotating weekend and holidays.
