ABOUT THE ROLE

Maharishi International University (MIU) is seeking an experienced and highly organized Manager of Sports Programs & Eligibility to serve as the operational backbone of our Athletics Department. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth coordination of daily athletic operations, maintaining NAIA compliance, and fostering seamless collaboration across teams and departments.

As the primary bridge between coaches, Athletics leadership, and university departments, this position demands exceptional management skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional environments, excels at building relationships with diverse stakeholders, and demonstrates proven ability to lead operations in a values-based athletic environment rooted in MIU's Consciousness-Based Education philosophy.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in athletics administration, operations management, or program coordination
  • Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work effectively with diverse groups including coaches, administrators, and university staff
  • Alignment with MIU's Consciousness-Based Education mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Sports Management, Higher Education, Business Administration, or related field
  • Demonstrated success managing game-day operations and athletic event logistics
  • Experience with eligibility tracking systems and academic compliance processes
  • Proven track record building and maintaining strong cross-departmental relationships in a collegiate setting
  • Experience leading teams, facilitating meetings, and coordinating collaborative initiatives
  • Working knowledge of NAIA eligibility rules and procedures
Responsibilities

Program Management & Operations
  • Translate the vision and direction of the Athletics Leadership team to the coaches and staff, ensuring program alignment at all levels to the program mission.
  • Meet regularly with all coaches to provide feedback, support procedures, and evaluate progress
  • Oversee daily logistics and scheduling for all athletic programs, including practices, travel, and competitions
  • Supervise coaches recruiting procedures and compliance with athletics tuition revenue model
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison and first point of contact for head coaches on procedures, best practices, and resource allocation
  • Lead strategic planning and coordination of athletic department goals and initiatives, working collaboratively with Athletics leadership
  • Facilitate or support with department-wide meetings, ensuring effective communication and alignment across all coaching staff and programs
  • Direct execution of home athletic events, managing on-site game-day operations and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with Sports Information Director, Marketing, and other departments to promote events and athlete achievements
NAIA Eligibility & Academic Compliance
  • Serve as the primary institutional contact for NAIA eligibility documentation and compliance processes
  • Coordinate with Registrar, Admissions, Academic Advising, and coaching staff to verify and monitor student-athlete eligibility
  • Track student-athlete academic progress and facilitate interventions through partnership with Academic Advising
  • Provide comprehensive training and guidance to coaches on eligibility rules, academic tracking, and compliance procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all institutional, departmental, and NAIA regulations
  • Lead eligibility education initiatives for athletes and staff in collaboration with Athletics leadership
