Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager

Sponzilli Landscape Group is seeking a highly organized, field-driven Production Manager to lead the execution of high-end residential and select commercial construction projects. While landscape construction experience is valuable, we are also very interested in speaking with professionals who have led large-scale residential or commercial construction projects and bring strong production management, scheduling, and team leadership experience.
This role is built for someone who thrives in operations, understands construction flow, and takes ownership of people, projects, and performance.
Core Responsibilities Operations & Project Execution (Primary Focus)- Lead all phases of construction from mobilization through closeout.
- Oversee daily field operations across multiple active projects.
- Ensure schedules, quality standards, manpower, and sequencing are consistently executed.
- Manage foremen and crews, conduct site walks, solve field issues, and drive accountability.
- Support seasonal planning and winter operations.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and deliveries.
- Anticipate lead times and jobsite needs to prevent downtime.
- Work closely with vendors and internal purchasing.
- Schedule and manage subcontractors and specialty trades.
- Communicate scope, sequencing, and expectations clearly.
- Monitor performance, readiness, and jobsite integration.
- Maintain job documentation, reporting, and production notes.
- Communicate consistently with leadership, sales, and accounting.
- Utilize digital tools to support scheduling, tracking, and job costing.
- Lead or support tailgate talks and jobsite safety efforts.
- Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and reinforcing best practices.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, structure, and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience leading construction production or field operations.
- Comfortable running multiple projects, directing crews, and enforcing standards.
- Strong construction knowledge (landscape, site, hardscape, or general construction).
- Skilled in scheduling, material coordination, and field support.
- Anticipates problems and solves them before they impact production.
- Clear, professional communicator with field teams, subs, and office staff.
- Organized with documentation, reporting, and follow-through.
- Confident leader who builds trust, accountability, and consistency.
- Supports training, safety culture, and ongoing improvement.
- Computer literacy is absolutely required (email, scheduling tools, documentation, and reporting).
- LMN experience is a strong plus
—and highly preferred for candidates coming from the landscape industry. - Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency required.
Additional plus factors: CDL and Spanish-speaking ability.
Physically capable of active jobsite involvement.
Salary & BenefitsSalary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year
