Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per year (based on experience)
We are a growing medical practice seeking an experienced and organized Human Resources Manager to oversee all HR functions for our team of approximately 50 employees at a medical practice. This role is critical to ensuring compliance, consistency, and professionalism across the organization while supporting leadership with hiring, employee relations, performance management, policy enforcement, and payroll.
The ideal candidate must have experience in healthcare and professional services, is highly organized, understands employment law and compliance, and can balance being supportive with maintaining strong standards and accountability.
Key Responsibilities Human Resources Operations- Manage all HR functions including hiring, onboarding, training, credentialing of providers, performance management, discipline, and terminations, KPI evaluations.
- Maintain and enforce company policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (NJ), and local labor laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Oversee recruitment process: job postings, screening, interviewing, and offers.
- Coordinate background checks, onboarding paperwork, and orientation.
- Ensure smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
- Serve as point of contact for employee relations issues, concerns, and complaints.
- Conduct and document investigations when needed.
- Support managers with performance reviews, coaching, write-ups, and improvement plans.
- Ensure consistent and fair application of discipline and corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, leave laws (FMLA, NJFLA, etc.), and workplace regulations.
- Manage HR documentation to reduce legal and compliance risk.
- Coordinate required trainings (e.g., harassment, HIPAA-related policies, workplace conduct).
- Work with payroll and benefits providers to ensure accuracy and compliance (ADP).
- Track PTO, leaves of absence, and attendance policies.
- Partner with leadership to build a professional, accountable, and positive workplace culture.
- Help develop and improve HR processes as the company grows.
- Provide guidance to management on HR best practices and people management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare AND a professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
