Job Overview

Join Pro Mach as a Field Service Technician/Assembler for Pace Packaging, contributing to the company’s mission to improve packaging performance and shape the future of automation.

You will provide ongoing technical support, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and training for automated unscrambling machinery at customer sites worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Install, start‑up, and troubleshoot Pace automated machinery at customer locations (both electrical and mechanical).
  • Perform in‑factory startup/commissioning and repair/servicing of machinery, including audits, upgrades, and operator training.
  • Generate detailed service reports and support after‑sales opportunities such as upgrades, retrofits, and spare‑part recommendations.
  • Set up and test variable frequency drives and servo controllers; conduct factory acceptance testing on new equipment.
  • Provide support in the shop as an assembler during periods without field assignments, assisting with assembly tasks as needed.
  • Travel up to 75% of the time, including domestic and international assignments; non‑travel time is spent at the plant.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma; associate’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background with experience in custom machine start‑up, repair, and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for technical reports and training documentation.
  • Excellent communication, customer‑service orientation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain a positive attitude, and collaborate with management and operators.
  • 3+ years of experience in equipment manufacturing and machine repair preferred.
