UGS (formerly Atlantis Partners) provides specialized audiovisual (AV), video conferencing, and structured cabling manpower to leading system integrators and IT providers across the United States.
This is a full-time, on-site Audio Visual Installation Technician role based in Boston, MA. The technician will install, configure, and test AV systems, including displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, and control equipment in commercial and residential environments. Responsibilities include pulling and terminating cabling, mounting and aligning equipment, labeling and documenting connections, and assisting with system commissioning. The role involves setting up and integrating video conferencing systems, adjusting lighting and audio settings for optimal performance, and troubleshooting technical issues during and after installation.
The technician will collaborate with project managers, lead installers, and client representatives, follow safety and quality standards, and maintain tools, vehicles, and inventory as needed.
Every technician, regardless of level, is expected to actively pursue and complete training and certifications across a range of disciplines, manufacturers, and technologies. This is a continuous learning trade — staying current is part of the job, not optional. Areas include, but are not limited to:
- Strong knowledge of Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including displays, audio components, control systems, and signal flow.
- Experience with Video Conferencing platforms and hardware integration for meeting rooms and collaboration spaces.
- Proven Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving AV, networking, and connectivity issues on-site.
- Familiarity with low-voltage cabling, cable management, terminations, and basic networking concepts.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and construction plans.
- Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and in construction environments; adherence to safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach when working with clients and team members.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CTS, low-voltage or manufacturer-specific credentials) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to project sites in and around the Boston area.
