Retail Structural Designer – Temporary & Semi-Temporary Displays
RWOB is seeking a highly skilled Retail Structural Designer with deep expertise in temporary and semi-temporary displays to concept, design, and engineer impactful in-store solutions that elevate brands and drive exceptional shopper experiences. This role blends creativity, structural problem-solving, and graphic understanding to deliver high-quality, production-ready designs for national retail programs.

, you will bring ideas to life with precision while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are visually compelling, structurally sound, and production-ready.
Reporting to Tim Allen, Creative Director
, you will collaborate with:
- The Structural & Industrial Design Team.
- Creative Leads & Graphic Designers.
You will help elevate major retail programs through intelligent, well-crafted design that balances creativity, cost, timing, and manufacturability.
Creative & Structural Design- Concept and design temporary and semi-temporary displays
, POP, and in-store structures that align with brand guidelines and shopper behavior. - Translate creative direction and visual identities into structural solutions that are both functional and compelling.
- Develop 2D and 3D structural forms with a strong understanding of materials, construction, and print requirements
. - Create structural CAD files, dielines, mockups, and renderings using Artios
CAD and Adobe software. - Build visualization models in 3DS Max or related platforms (as needed) to communicate design intent to clients and internal teams.
- Ensure all files are accurate, press-ready, and production-viable.
- Apply a strong graphic eye to integrate brand elements, imagery, and typography into structural concepts.
- Partner with graphic designers to ensure cohesive storytelling and best-practice print/layout execution.
- Understand corrugate, folding carton, SBS, plastics, foam core, metals, woods, and sustainable substrate options.
- Design for manufacturability, cost efficiency, kitting, shipping, and retail compliance
. - Collaborate with engineering and model shop teams to test, refine, and prototype display solutions.
- Present concepts and structural solutions to internal teams and clients with clarity and confidence.
- Work hand-in-hand with account teams to meet program objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Support cross-functional workflows and participate in design reviews to ensure alignment.
- Manage multiple design assignments simultaneously with attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Provide clear documentation, specifications, and production notes throughout the project lifecycle.
- 5+ years of professional experience designing temporary or semi-temporary retail displays, POP, packaging, or structural solutions.
- Expert knowledge of ArtiosCAD for structural design, CAD modeling, and dieline development.
- Strong creative and graphic background with expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Familiarity with Solid Works, Adobe Premier, and 3DS Max (or equivalent 3D visualization tools).
- Strong sketching, concepting, and visual storytelling skills.
- Working knowledge of print production, manufacturing processes, and material specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to balance creativity with technical precision, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration.

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Structural Design, Packaging Engineering, Retail Design
