The Kindergarten teacher is an effective decision-maker who fosters and facilitates the academic and social-emotional development of the children. The Kindergarten teacher will plan, implement and assess lessons while building a partnership with kindergarten families.

Position Objectives
  • Instruct the center's developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of child development activities on a daily basis
  • Supervise and direct staff assigned to assist in the class room
  • Ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children
  • Maintain regular communication with parents
  • Contribute to the effective operation of the overall program of the center in compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the Ohio Department of Education
Qualifications

The Kindergarten Teacher should have:

  • Degree(s) in one of the following: child development, early childhood education, psychology, music, social work or special education
  • A Child Development Associate credential with experience teaching in a part-day or full-day program
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Credentials that meet state requirements for education and additional center requirements may apply
