UPS 3-Phase Product Tester
Schneider Electric is seeking a skilled UPS 3-Phase Product Tester to join our Fairfield, OH manufacturing team. This position will support testing of advanced 3-phase UPS systems used in critical power applications. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience reading wiring diagrams, and the ability to work safely around electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on electrical professional with experience in testing, troubleshooting, manufacturing, field service, industrial electrical systems, or power distribution equipment.
WhatYou Will Do
Set up and perform functional, operational, and electrical testing on Schneider Electric 3-phase UPS Pantera products. Test UPS systems, electrical assemblies, controls, accessories, breakers, CTs, communication components, and related electronic systems. Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, outline drawings, bills of material, and test specifications. Troubleshoot wiring, electrical, mechanical, and functional issues identified during testing. Perform AC/DC circuit analysis and validate proper system operation.
Use electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, multimeters, continuity testers, hipot testers, ground bond testers, power meters, and other required test devices. Upload firmware, download parameters, configure control panels, and support electronic component setup as required. Set up and verify protective relays, breakers, controls, sensors, and related devices per engineering documentation or vendor manuals. Document test results, defects, rework activity, and quality findings accurately and completely.
Communicate test failures, drawing concerns, or quality issues to supervision, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams. Follow all safety requirements, including electrical safety, lockout/tagout, PPE, energized work controls, and test area procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with 5S and Lean manufacturing expectations. Support continuous improvement activities related to test process, quality, first-pass yield, cycle time, and productivity.
Qualifications Will Make You Successful
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, or electrical assembly. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings. Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical circuits. Ability to use a voltmeter, multimeter, and continuity testing equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to document work accurately. Ability to follow standard work, test procedures, safety rules, and quality requirements.
Strong communication skills and ability to escalate issues effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts as business needs require. Preferred experience previous experience testing UPS systems, power distribution units, switch gear, electrical panels, or industrial electrical equipment. Experience with 3-phase electrical systems. Knowledge of UPS, PDU, or critical power products. Experience with hipot, ground bond, functional test, load testing, or regenerative load systems.
Experience uploading firmware or configuring electronic controls. Familiarity with protective relays, breakers, CTs, meters, communication modules, or control panels. Wiring certification or electrical certification preferred. Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Basic computer skills, including Windows-based applications and digital test documentation systems.
