We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Field Application Engineering to lead our team of technical experts in providing exceptional support to our customers. The Director of Field Application Engineering will play a pivotal role in driving customer success by understanding their unique requirements, providing technical guidance, and ensuring seamless integration of our products into their applications.
What You’ll DoThis role will lead a team of Field Application Engineers within the designated business unit. This leadership includes:
Team Leadership- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of FAE's.
- Set clear goals and expectations for the FAE team and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Partner with sales leadership to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions.
- Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts to showcase product capabilities and address customer needs.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to ensure alignment between customer requirements and product roadmap.
- Develop and maintain technical sales collateral, including presentations, case studies, and product documentation.
- Provide training and enablement sessions for the sales team on product features, competitive positioning, and industry trends.
- Support the development of sales strategies and go-to-market plans for key products and solutions.
- Serve as a technical advisor to customers, helping them understand the value proposition of our products and solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including technical decision-makers and influencers.
- Participate in customer meetings and workshops to gather requirements, assess technical fit, and address any concerns or objections.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies relevant to our products and solutions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline activities and enhance efficiency.
- Drive innovation and experimentation to differentiate our offerings and drive competitive advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in Field Application Engineering, Sales Engineering, or technical consulting roles.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong technical aptitude and expertise in relevant technologies, platforms, and industries.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving revenue growth through presales support.
- Ability to travel as needed to support customer engagements and sales activities.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, adept at translating data into actionable insights.
