Project Manager – Fairfield, OH

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S.

Responsibilities

Lead the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. Scope, budget, schedule, plan, execute, monitor and report on substation projects and proposals. Oversee a project team of engineers, designers, drafters and support staff, ensuring adherence to ECI’s quality control procedures. Coordinate with ECI’s discipline groups—Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), Transmission Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, and Project Management/Controls—to ensure successful execution of projects.

Serve as ECI’s primary interface with clients and stakeholders, and provide technical mentorship and training to project team design staff.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of project engineering experience
  • 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization and planning skills
  • Commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Ability to meet fast‑paced project schedules
  • Advanced knowledge of power engineering principals, codes, standards and design tools
  • Ability to direct and oversee multiple technical disciplines in substation projects
  • PE license and PMP certification are preferred
