Mechanical Engineer
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our client's laboratory technology team. This role will design, build, and implement custom machines, automation systems, and productivity solutions to enhance the capability and efficiency of US and North American laboratories. Occasional collaboration with European engineering teams and limited travel may be required.
Key job duties:
- Deliver BI project scopes through the design, build, and implementation of custom mechanical and electromechanical systems, automated equipment, and productivity solutions.
- Collaborate with EU engineering counterparts as needed to share best practices and technical resources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers, integrators, and fabrication partners.
- Work with finance and accounting to plan, budget, and track engineering project costs.
- Provide deep technical expertise and troubleshooting support on mechanical, automation, and system-level challenges.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company policies across all engineering activities.

Additional skills and qualifications:
Musts:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design experience with automated equipment.
- Experience with machine design, electromechanical systems, and servo-hydraulic or automated platforms.
- 3D design experience.
- Skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and automation systems.
Plus:
- Working knowledge of safety and quality management and compliance systems: ISO 17025 and/or Nadcap experience.
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles with an emphasis in testing environments (rupture, tensile, fatigue, fracture, etc).
- Proficiency with programming fundamentals: structured text or ladder logic.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and test instrumentation:
LabVIEW and/or Dasylab.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, OH.
Pay and benefits:
The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $57.69/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
