Position: Actuarial - Associate Actuary, Actuary I - II

Actuary I‑II Large Commercial Account Pricing – Fairfield, OH

The Cincinnati Insurance Companies' Commercial Pricing Analytics department is hiring an Actuary I‑II for large commercial account pricing. This role is based at headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio and includes a pay range of $110,000 – $180,000 annually, with potential for bonuses and stock incentives.

Responsibilities
  • Review large commercial account pricing proposals; communicate recommendations to underwriters; collaborate with underwriters during the pricing process.
  • Perform loss‑sensitive pricing and collateral evaluation.
  • Maintain and enhance pricing tools.
  • Research and implement pricing improvements, including construction of multivariate pricing models.
  • Enhance business unit reporting; distill and communicate key findings.
  • Build tools to enhance business unit productivity.
  • Perform ad‑hoc analyses.
Qualities & Skills
  • Robust SQL experience; strong SAS experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel VBA.
  • Basic Python, especially pandas/Num Py, Excel/file system manipulation, and generalized linear models—desired.
  • Experience with penalized regression models is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, physics, economics, or a similar technical field; business coursework is a plus.
  • Four or more years of property & casualty actuarial experience.
  • Three or more years of commercial pricing experience.
  • Large commercial experience (preferred).
  • Candidate expected to have achieved the ACAS designation; candidates who have achieved or are pursuing the FCAS designation are preferred.
