Position Summary

The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources department with a primary focus on full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition while assisting with day-to-day HR administrative functions. This role is responsible for sourcing candidates, coordinating the hiring process, maintaining applicant records, and delivering an excellent candidate experience from initial contact through onboarding.

Responsibilities:

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition (Approximately 70%)
  • Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions.
  • Post job openings on company and external job boards.
  • Source qualified candidates using job boards, social media, networking, and other recruiting tools.
  • Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates.
  • Conduct phone screenings and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Coordinate interview logistics and communicate with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure candidate records are accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare offer letters and coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
  • Attend job fairs, recruiting events, and community outreach activities to attract qualified candidates.
  • Track recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate flow, and hiring activity.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
Human Resources Support (Approximately 30%)
  • Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
  • Process employment-related paperwork, including new hire, status change, and separation documentation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment and HR administrative tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and company records.
  • Support employee engagement activities and company events.
  • Assist with HR reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of recruiting or HR experience, with recruiting as a primary responsibility preferred.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms.
  • Strong interviewing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple open positions simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial recruiting experience.
  • Experience with Indeed, Linked In, and other online recruiting platforms.
