Insight Global is seeking a Procurement Specialist for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering company in Fairfield, OH. This individual will lead procurement and sourcing activities for assigned manufacturing projects, ensuring materials and services are purchased on time, within budget, and in alignment with project requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting procurement in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable reviewing engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and technical documentation. Experience sourcing gas turbine support equipment, machined and fabricated components, and other engineered mechanical products is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute procurement activities to support projects and production schedules
- Review drawings, BOMs, specifications, and project documentation to identify procurement needs
- Obtain supplier quotes, evaluate proposals, and issue purchase orders
- Coordinate supplier selection and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms
- Track open orders, expedite critical materials, and resolve delivery or quality issues
- Partner with Engineering, Project Management, Production, Quality, and Accounting teams to support project execution
- Identify procurement risks, long-lead items, and potential schedule impacts.
- Follow up with suppliers on quotes, acknowledgements, deliveries, certifications, and documentation.
- Resolve supplier delivery, quality, pricing, and documentation issues.
- Maintain procurement records, schedules, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Support supplier qualification, evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with estimating activities through supplier pricing and cost analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of procurement, sourcing, or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience obtaining quotes, evaluating suppliers, and managing procurement activities
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and problem-solving skills
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and procurement software
- Experience supporting ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environments preferred
- Gas turbine, power generation, rotating equipment, or industrial manufacturing experience preferred
$30.00-$38.00/hour, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates. Compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and qualifications.
