Job Description:
The Bug Company, an innovator and leader in the breeding and supply of live insects for various purposes, is currently seeking a dedicated and energetic individual to join our shipping team. The role of Shipping Team Associate is crucial for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of our products to customers who depend on us for quality and reliability. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and has a genuine interest in handling and working with live insects on a daily basis.
The ideal candidate will become an integral part of a team that is essential to our operational success.
This full-time position is based at our Fairfield, OH distribution center and is not eligible for remote work. Applicants should be prepared for hands‑on involvement with our products and be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Efficiently and safely package live insects for shipping.
- Accurately label packages to comply with company and regulatory standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times to ensure safety and compliance.
- Inspect products for quality and report any issues to the supervisor immediately
- Adhere to all company guidelines and regulations concerning safety and handling requirement
- Ability to work in a dusty environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
- Ability to stand in place, squat, kneel, bend, and carry frequently.
- Ability to problem solve and follow directions.
- Ability to understand and speak English.
- Ability to count to 100 and perform simple math tasks.
- Ability to use a box cutter and tape gun safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform duties with accuracy, care, and speed.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Must have attention to detail.
- Must be able to work directly with and handle live insects.
Sunday - Thursday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
Hours will fluctuate based on the shipping schedules and company needs
