Position Purpose
Responsible for keeping the manufacturing plant clean, safe and operational at all times. They must have strong organizational skills to unload and load trailers with a forklift. Have a good eye for detail to notice any defects in final product and defects with raw material. Teamwork is essential to being a plant material handler. Responsible for collaborating with Production Team to move material and finished product smoothly and safely.
Work independently to accomplish tasks around the plant assigned by Plant Manager.
- High school diploma or GED diploma.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and perform basic math computations as needed.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent organizational skills

- Proven work experience as a Warehouse Clerk or similar role
- Prior experience working in a warehouse
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery
- 12 months previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous Power Industrial Truck experience.
- Good understanding of how inventory works.
- Ability to detect potential problems with raw material or finished product.
- Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
- Load trailers accurately with finished product.
- Unload raw material from trailers.
- Ability to transfer rolls of paper from warehouse to production floor.
- Recognize defects in raw material and quickly notify supervisor.
- Use equipment to test raw materials.
- Inventory control of the warehouse using equipment and excel spreadsheets.
- Establish a working relationship with Production Team to formulate objectives and understand requirements.
- Set an example of a clean worksite to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products.
- Ensure shipping procedures are timely.
- Be an example of the company’s safety and quality guidelines.
- Other miscellaneous duties assigned by management.
- Treats all Eco Pack stakeholders with dignity and respect.
- Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
- Follow appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect staff and themselves.
- Maintains confidentiality of protected production information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
- Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.
- Reports any retaliation or discrimination to Human Resources or Plant Manager.
- Participate and train in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the plant's emergency plan.
- Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to Plant Manager.
- As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and safety competency.
- Follow all plant established safety guidelines.
Physical Requirements
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
- Ability to work under conditions such as heat and cold.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 75lbs.
