Maintenance Engineer
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of CNC laser machines. You will be responsible for machine maintenance, quality inspection, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S and safety protocols.
- Locate and load the correct laser programs from the server to the machine.
- Load and unload sheet metal and parts using proper material handling equipment.
- Verify machine settings, monitor processing, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and quality using precision measuring tools.
- Perform secondary operations, including part grinding, dressing, or deburring.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and assist with preventative maintenance tasks.
- Identify and report machine, material, or quality issues to appropriate personnel.
- Actively participate in cross-training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC lasers or CNC equipment.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.
- Familiarity with laser machine maintenance and sheet metal processing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Certification to operate powered industrial trucks like forklifts and reach trucks.
- Basic computer skills for loading programs, inputting quality data, and interacting with ERP systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with sheet metal punching and understanding of die clearances.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $29.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
