Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Second Shift Production Supervisor to lead our wholesale bakery production team. This position is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and fostering a positive, high-performance work environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing or commercial bakery operations, strong leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate second-shift bakery production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members, including training, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure products are manufactured according to company specifications, customer requirements, and food safety standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and staffing levels to achieve production targets and on-time delivery commitments.
  • Maintain compliance with GMPs, HACCP, OSHA, and all company food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Conduct shift meetings and communicate production priorities, performance metrics, and operational updates.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and waste.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Planning teams to support efficient operations.
  • Monitor labor efficiency, product yields, and other key performance indicators.
  • Complete production reports, employee documentation, and shift records accurately and timely.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in food manufacturing, commercial baking, or a related production environment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and quality systems.
  • Experience managing production schedules and labor resources.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
  • Wholesale bakery or commercial baking experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures common in bakery production environments.
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach, and perform other physical tasks as required.
