Meat Cutter II

Performance Food service, a leader in food distribution across the United States, is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter II to join our dedicated food processing team. This position involves precise cutting, trimming, and preparing various cuts of meat, ensuring they meet our strict quality standards before they reach our numerous clients from family-owned restaurants to large chains. The role requires keen attention to detail, adherence to hygiene and safety guidelines, and a passion for quality craftsmanship in food preparation.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats such as beef, pork, poultry, and fish to prepare meat in cooking form.
• Inspect meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and remove them along with any excess fat.
• Use a variety of butchers' knives, band saws, and other equipment to divide whole animal carcasses into smaller portions to facilitate cooking.
• Properly store meats, ensuring adherence to safety standards regarding temperature and containment.
• Maintain and manage inventory of meat stock.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation and safety regulations within the cutting and preparation areas.
• Communicate frequently with chefs or customers to answer questions, provide recommendations and take special orders.
