The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for supporting the field sales team, third-party Manufacturer Representatives, and customers for our Standex Detect Electronics Business Unit. This will include existing business as well as generating and developing new business. This role is office-based in our Standex Electronics corporate office in Fairfield, OH, with the option to work 1 day per week remotely.
What You’ll Do- Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of accounts; maintain regular contact to understand customer needs and buying cycles.
- Collaborate with Outside Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Customer Service to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Establish profitable pricing levels through successful collaboration internally and externally, and quoting projects.
- Support customers throughout the order process to ensure high levelsof satisfaction-- Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate customer service for assigned accounts.
- Understand product specifications and applications to recommend appropriate solutions and cross-sell/upsell related products.
- Support distributor partners with pricing, product information, and sales tools.
- Provide technical and commercial quotations for industrial electronics products, including configurations, options, and accessories.
- Follow up on select quotations, samples, marketing campaigns, and web leads to close business and meet/exceed sales targets.
- Provide feedback to management on market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements.
- Participate in periodic sales meetings, training, and product education to stay current on our portfolio and industry developments.
- Contribute to short‑and long‑term sales forecasting.
- Identifying upside/downside risks in the pipeline and communicating them to Sales Management, Operations, and Demand Planning.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Proven experience in inside sales, account management, or customer service in a B2B engineered products environment; experience with industrial and/or electronic products strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical/electronic components, automation, or industrial equipment (or willingness and aptitude to learn quickly).
- Strong phone presence and written communication skills; comfortable handling a high volume of calls and emails.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving attitude and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with OEMs, system integrators, or industrial distributors.
- Familiarity with reading basic technical documentation, datasheets, and specifications.
- Prior experience in an industrial electronics manufacturer or distributor.
