Summary DSG-Canusa is seeking a Maintenance Technician that will play a vital role in keeping manufacturing operations running safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this hands-on role, you will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical and electromechanical equipment while partnering with engineering and production teams to minimize downtime and drive continuous improvement. Your work will directly support production performance, workplace safety, and the company's commitment to operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and corrective repairs using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Conduct daily inspections of machinery to identify potential failures and address issues proactively.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical problems quickly to prevent unplanned outages.
  • Follow all company health and safety regulations and promote safe work practices to maintain an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) workplace.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Accurately complete maintenance work orders and documentation on time.
  • Follow established maintenance processes and Leader Standard Work procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve equipment issues and improve operational performance.
  • Provide knowledge sharing and hands-on training to junior team members with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Support additional maintenance or facility-related duties as required to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician or millwright in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical production equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, and use diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.
  • Experience using CMMS software for work order tracking and preventative maintenance scheduling.
  • Industrial Mechanic/Millwright Certificate of Qualification is preferred.
  • Welding certification or experience with fabrication is considered an asset.
  • Strong commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform tasks that may include climbing, kneeling, stooping, or crouching as needed.
