Maintenance Mechanic on Conveyor Systems
This role supports a fast-paced manufacturing environment by performing mechanical and low-voltage electrical maintenance on production equipment. The maintenance technician focuses on troubleshooting conveyor systems, three-phase motors, gear boxes, and related components to keep production lines running efficiently. The position emphasizes reactive troubleshooting with limited involvement in preventive maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow.
- Diagnose and repair issues with three-phase motors, gear boxes, and related mechanical components.
- Perform low voltage electrical troubleshooting, including working with photo eyes, sensors, and control circuits.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and ensure production lines remain operational.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks as needed to support equipment reliability.
- Inspect machinery and systems regularly to detect signs of wear, misalignment, or malfunction.
- Collaborate with production personnel to understand equipment issues and prioritize repairs.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in accordance with site procedures.
- Use appropriate tools and safety practices when working on mechanical and electrical systems.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience or a trade school certificate in industrial maintenance.
- Hands-on experience repairing and troubleshooting motors and gear boxes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in low voltage electrical troubleshooting, including working with photo eyes and sensors.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial maintenance, repair, and service.
- Experience using hand and power tools for mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner.
- Capability to work safely around industrial equipment and electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical domains.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
